A pap smear isn't the only thing you need. You also need a blood test. And Yes, tell him if it's positive - maybe he doesn't know. As for "accepting the ugly truth", we all make errors in judgment, but you need to get a grip and fix anything that is wrong before there is any damage.

It's not responsible to be having sex with people like that. Whenever you give your stuff up, there's a possibility that he could be your baby's daddy. If you're not ready to have that responsibility or if you don't think this guy would make a good daddy, then don't sleep with him. Having casual sex like that can be deadly these days!
Yes, you should go to the gynecologist and yes, you should tell him the results. . . and get an HIV blood test while you're at it.

through the time you pick to sleep with someone, you would possibly want to not be on the "is it rude" degree, try to be well previous that! it really is no longer rude to make positive he's "sparkling" previously you sleep at the same time, yet you ought to already be on the degree the position your sexual previous has been said, and also you think them adequate to inform you the reality. Suggesting you both make positive you're healthful is a sturdy theory. or you would come for the length of as cynical, and per chance slightly "clinical" too. smart or no longer, no one might want to need to have their sexual well being wondered in this variety of blunt way!

Get tested. You don't want to pass anything onto someone else and you don't want to get sicker. IF you have a positive test, the Health Dept will be notified by the physician (law I think) and they will notify any of your previous sexual partners. Yup, you will have to provide names, addresses, etc.
Be smart. Get tested. And if negative, remember to always carry and use a condom.

It's always a good idea if you have a gut feeling. Get tested, and yes, let him know if you come out positive. Next time, use protection! You don't want to have kids yet, do you?
