ok here is the situation...I am going out with a terrific woman this evening, and want to take her to somewhere special. I know she likes seafood, but she also favors Italian foods as well. $ isn't an issue or a problem either...I just want her to relax and feel free to just be herself...actually most of me wants to just cook a meal with her at home and stay in- blah- what would you do?

COOK!

Even if the food isn't as good as a resturant, it will be the thought and effort you put into it that will make all the difference in the world. Nothing is more romantic and inviting than a man who has taken the time, effort and care to cook for YOU! I can give you an excellent seafood pasta recipe:

Crab Alfredo

4 tablespoons Butter or margarine
4 tablespoons Flour
2 cups Half-and-half (heavy cream If you REALLY feel wicked)
1/2 cup (or more to Taste) grated Parmesan Cheese
Salt and white pepper to Taste
6 (8 oz.) cooked snow crab meat, Cut into chunks

Directions:

Melt the butter in a saucepan. Stir in the flour, and cook briefly until the mixture looks sandy. Do NOT let it color. Wisk in the half-and-half, and stir until the mixture forms a thick sauce. Stir in the cheese, and season to taste. Simmer for a few minutes to blend the flavors, and stir in the crab meat. Cook JUST until the crab is heated through. Serve over cooked linguini, with additional Parmesan cheese on the side.

Serve it with some breadsticks and a salad. You will be the hit baby!

Well, if it is within your first 3-5 dates or so, cooking at home will be a mistake. Most women read that as an expectation about what's for dessert, if you catch my drift... so save the candlelight home dinners for a time when you know she feels comfortable with you and is ready for the next step.

Seafood or Italian, either way it will make her feel special that you tried to choose a place she will like. So next focus on choosing a quiet place where you know you can relax and talk very openly, because getting to know each other, and helping her slowly and gradually learn that she can trust you, is what is most important now.

If it's a first date I would take her out. After you've been with her awhile then cook and stay at home. Take her to a nice seafood restaurant

Call around.... which restaurant serves seafood and Italian...which restaurants have an actual CHEF?

When you find the right place, request that the chef prepare you a large "lover's platter", tell him your interests and her favorites... have him design something special... order a nice table and a great wine....impress her with a well-thought out evening!!!

Don't forget a sinful dessert!

Most women LOVE men who can cook and enjoy doing it for them. I think a nice meal at home with good ambiance would really be wonderful. How about a light shrimp scampi (or crab, or lobster, or whatever fish she loves) as a main dish and several finger foods as sides or desserts that you can feed each other? Fun and functional (remember candles!) If you want a night of passion you don't want your foods to be too heavy (smile) - and remember to pair with a nice white wine.

You could call your favorite Italian restaurant and ask them if they have any good seafood dishes on the menu..

A nice homecooked meal would be very impressive, though...

Here is a site called "The Italian Seafood Gourmet"....

Some of those recipes sound so, so good..... :)

Have a great night! :)

I have to say that I like ALL of the suggestions put forward so far.....I would have 2 small recommendations....whole lobsters can be messy to take apart and eat, so don't put your date into a messy situation (I would be embarrassed, myself) and ....if you are hoping for a little romance, SKIP THE GARLIC>>>>>>>:)
Have fun, good luck!
