well, my favorite "desert" would be the Sahara I guess...but my favorite "dessert" would be oreo torte.

My personal favorite is cheesecake!! :-)
I read an article a while back stating how much ice cream Americans consume; so, I am guessing that would be our favorite dessert. Other desserts that are popular are cobblers and pies, especially in the summer and fall when fresh fruits are abundunt.
However, with such a large influx of immigrants other desserts are becoming more mainstream in restaurants and homes, such as flan.

do you mean dessert? Well I love the NY Cheesecake with strawberry topping. Another is the Peach Cobbler. (i feel guilty of eating them. Its so irresitble.)

Cheesecake! I'm not sure where you are from, but I know that some people make it with ricotta cheese and that's just nasty! You gotta make it with cream cheese =)
