Café Babareeba- Spanish tapas restaurant in Chicago
El Sol de Tala- Indianapolis.. authentic Mexican cuisine
El Siboney- Cuban restaurant in Key West
(can you tell I like Hispanic foods???) :-)
i try to stay away from chain restaurants. If I had to choose a favorite chain it would have to be Champps or Cheesecake Factory

In the U.S. hands down Gary Danko, in San Francisco. There is also a great restraunt in George town (D.C area) called Yu and Mi's. Abroad, I love A la Bonne Cave, and Le Joslyn, both in Paris.
