In simple terms it is an enlarging of the heart muscle and particularly the wall of the left ventricle, which is the chamber that pumps blood to the body. You can have hypertrophy in other areas of the heart too but the Left ventricle is most common.
No there is nothing that can be done to correct this, but there are medications to help the person do a little better.
Usually decreasing the blood pressure and losing any and all extra weight will work well for the person and give them back more of their active life.
AND OF COURSE ( if you smoke - stop )

Basically it refers to a thickening of the heart walls. This can cause "heart failure", so it needs to be followed.
Ventricular hypertrophy is not a disease, but a symptom. So the treatment involves finding the cause of the symptom and treating that. So, yes it can sometimes be cured. The attached link can give you more information.
If you need further treatment, I would strongly recommend going to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Mn. There is a difference in hospitals. I and my family have been in several, and Mayo was head and shoulders above the rest. In addition, they are probably cheaper than your local hospital, so Medicare and insurance companies love them. When I needed a heart procedure, I went there myself.

simply enlargement of the ventrical
the heart will do this normally
or it can happen abnormally.
depends on what the cause is.
for example a athelete during a track run- heart can enlarge then it over time and decrease running can return to norm so it all depends on the rest of the story what is the cause.
