i was watching a show today on tv and it was about people who were HIV positive...is being HIV positive the same thing as having AIDS the same thing? if its different...how are they different?

HIV is a virus that can becaome AIDS. if you are in treatment for HIV, you may manage to live with HIV for many years and not be affected. Once you have AIDS, your body is already self distructing.

People who are HIV positive have the virus in its early stages which it might escalte to AIDS.

it starts as HIV then turns into full blown AIDS
