no eat the shells..

If they are "soft-shell" crabs, then yes, you eat the whole thing. Very yummy. As the name implies, the shells are soft enough to chew right through. If you aren't sure, try cutting into a shell with a regular table knife, if it doesn't go through, it's not a soft-shell crab!

("soft-shell" crabs are just a kind of crab harvested just after they have molted, so their shels are still soft. Native Americans were the first to eat them after watching bears catch & eat the crabs. At first they thought it "bear magic", but then they discovered the bears just had gourmet appetites!)

syre you can, but it's a whole lot tastier and crunchier if you deep fry it.
