Not sure why this question is under cuisine unless you intend to eat these eye boogies.
But it is generally due to dried tears on the eyelids or possibly conjunctivitus. This is a bacterial disease and very contagious. It is easily treated with Vigamox an antibiotic.

When you sleep, sometimes the water in your eyes leaks out and dries onto the skin around your eyes. Like when you cry, your face becomes a little crusty after the tears dry. Happens to most of us, including me.

lol....eye crumbs
its mucus....seems like he doesn't wash his face in the morning..my brother used to get a lot when he was younger and my sis had to help him get it out of his eyelashes...just tell him he has something in his eyes...

here in uk we call that sleepy dust its normal nothing to worry about,may be he should wash his eyes b4 coming into work.

they are sleepys!!!He prolly had wet eyes when he went 2 sleep so when he wokre up he had dry eyes!!always happens to me!
