yes. the tip just doesn't go to the waiter - they have to tip out the bartender, when you order drinks, and they have to tip out the food prep crew. they don't keep 100% of their tip.

No, because alcohol charges often come to more than the cost of your meal.
In general, I'm not a big fan of tipping. These people are being paid to do a job, and they should be given a reasonable rate. In some countries, there is no tipping, but the servers get good wages and give good service.
It bugs me that someone has to stand their with their hand out for a gratuity. Why isn't the restaurant owner paying them a decent wage in the first place? You don't tip a doctor for taking out your appendix. Or tip an airline stewardess for serving your meal. Or tip a bus driver for getting you to work on time each day.
Depending on tips is demeaning to the employee and it's high time restaurant owners were made to pay a decent wage to their employees.

If the waiter brought the alcoholic drinks to your table along with your food, definitely (assuming service was OK).,
If u bought the alcoholic drinks your self by walking up to a bar and bringing them back to the table yourself, then NO.
The point is, if the waiter is involved in taking the order and delivering it, that is what the tip is for.; if not, tip not required.
Normal tip is 10% if average to poor service, 15% if above average service and 20-30% if excellent to superior service.
Some fine dining establishments require that a tip be added to the check so be sure and check this out or u will pay double.
Remember: Be as nice to your waiter or waitress as they are to you.

Yes, it's usually included in the total bill. If I'm at a bar and only having alcohol, I tip differently.

Yes, because the waiter usually has to give a portion of his/her tips to the bartender.

For well drinks, yes. For wine, I try to estimate what the median bottle on their list would have been if we ordered something pricier. If the Sommelier was involved in the selection, I use the actual price since a good sommelier provides an additional service.

Tips are given on the total amount of the bill according to service. If the service is good, tip generously! If it's not good, tip accordingly!
