40 sounds a lot if you are unsure. I found this by Googling.

You should be ok today but it dosen't sound like a hobby you should persue!!!

DETRIMENTAL PROPERTIES: Eating large amounts of the raw acorns can lead to toxicity due to the tannic acid. Humans rarely eat toxic amounts of raw acorns because of the extreme bitterness. Anyone with a normal sense of taste would find it nearly impossible to consume large amounts. Those who have persisted in eating raw acorns have nearly always been stopped short of death because of the onset of frequent urination, constipation, abdominal pains, and extreme thirst. Kingsbury, author of Poisonous Plants in the U.S. and Canada (Oxford University Press, 1993) included raw acorns on his list of poisonous plants. He stated that eating large quantities over a long period of time, results in bloody stools and other symptoms.

Acorns are not edible except for animals like squirrels. Humans get stomach aches.

Well yes - you have proved that they are edible by eating 40.

But whether or not they are poisonous, you'll probably find out in about 12 hours.

When you say "raw" - does this mean you usually cook them?

Why are you eating squirrel food? Im a veggie and you give us a bad name, as everyone thinks we live on nut loafs and Ive never eaten one in my life. Why not have a bowl of cereal or slice of toast. Acorns are hardly filling.

You may start feeling sick soon, or at least have a major case of the runs. You are supposed to bake them to neutralize a chemical that can cause stomach upset and diarrhea.
