Have any of you up above me been to an anatomy class lately?
Here's the deal: your urethra (pee tube that runs from the bladder to the outside of your body) is a completely seperate orifice than the vaginal canal, which is where you douche. Unless you're somehow fitting the douche tube into your urethra, then it's not going to make a bladder infection or UTI any worse. If you look at your vag with a mirror, and spread your labia apart, you can actually see the difference between the urethra and the vaginal canal. But, if you douche too much, you'll wash out the GOOD bacteria in your vagina, which causes an unbalance, and causes yeast infections and other unpleasant things.

douching can cause bladder infections. I used to douche at least 4 times a week. I did not tell my doctor, and I had to go through all kinds of testing. When all of the test results came back, he asked me again, How often do you douche. I was honest and told him. I stopped immediately, and I have not had a bladder infection since. I do OCCASIONALLY douche, once a month now, but I do not do it to the extreme anymore. My doctor said a woman should NOT douche at all. If you have an odor, you should see your doctor immediately.

Bladder infections can be very serious. Using any product that causes your body to expel the natrual bacterias in your genital area can make yeast infections and bladder infections worse. I would suggest that you stop douching and see a doctor. In the meantime, drink lots of water and cranberry juice. Those two things can greatly reduce your discomfort.

If you have an infection in your vagina yes the douche can push the infection farther up in the reproductive tract.Usually it is not necessary for women to douche.Try a warm bath, pour some white vinegar in the water and soak.Make sure you clean and disinfect the tub well first and rinse out the disinfectant so it won't irritate you

No it won't make it worse. In some cases it may help some. Don't douch to often though, because there are helpful bacteria in the vagina that you need to naturally help fight off infections.
