Help!

I am 37, always been reasonably healthy except for a bad migraine condition

In the past 2 weeks I have suddenly begin to have the following symptoms:
Irregular heart beat, palpitations, some mild chest pain, extreme dizziness, loss of appetite, vomiting, insomnia, intense pain on the lower side of my back (almost in the hip/buttocks area, right side only)

This has continued almost continuos for about 2 weeks. However the last 48 hours I am having even worse symptoms..................the veins in my hands, wrists and feets seem to have shrunken to invisible, I have intermittent numbness and tingling in the hands, feet, face and scalp.

I thought maybe i was dehydrated and drank a huge amount of Gatorade last night which seemed to help for a bit. But now I feel about the same..not the numness, but chest pain and have added a hacking cough!

I know go to the doctor is the best answer. But I am hoping someone can give me an idea of what this might BE so I can be prepared. HELP!!

your problem can be a wide range of things! it could be something as simple as stress- it can cause your body to go haywire like that, or if could go to something as serious as a tumor or cancer! you definately need to go to the doctor and get some tests run!

Sometimes numbness/chest pain and palpitations can be related to electrolyte imbalances. If you are on a strict diet, or not eating fuits and veggies, your body may be depleted. Electrolytes keep your body functioning. Your muscles and nerves do not work properly when these are out of wack. You should however, definately see a physician. And, maybe take a multivitamin. And, just a quick FYI. It is a common misconception that gatorade is good for dehydration. I am an RN at a hospital, and patients who are admitted for dehydration are limited on gatorade intake, because it is high in sugar and can cause diarrhea, therefore increasing dehydration. Try gatorade propel, or water. Hope this helps.

Women do not always have what most consider classic symptoms when they have a heart problem. Instead of big crushing chest pain, they can have jaw and neck pain. A co-worker had flu-like symptoms and upset stomach for 2 week prior to a major heart attack. You may not be experiencing the same thing she was, but heart problems are easier to deal with early rather than late so please don't take chances and get yourself to an ER with a very good reputation for caring for heart patients.

I'd go to a doctor right away (I realize it's late in the afternoon) or to an ER close by. You're symptoms could POSSIBLY be something very serious that could get bad quickly. Gatorade doesn't do anything for healthy people and it won't help here. Please get looked at right away. If I'm wrong...no biggy! If I'm right...tell me about it after the doctor!

Your symptoms are indicative of many ailments, how ever the one thing that does worry me is the cough.

With the other symptoms and then adding the dry hacking cough it sounds like you may have an aneurysm. Most likely abdominal aneurysm.

Get to the Doctor because "IF" this is the case then you are in need of care...

You really do have to go to the doctors. it could only be piles, or fissures, (which can both be painful and alarming). It could also be polyps inside your bowel that are being torn as your faeces passes them. But only your Doctor can find out exactely what is going off. They will want to examine you but you don't need to feel embarressed by this, trust me, yours will not be the first bum they have seen. They will require a stool sample from you too, this is to test for the blood, it will tell tell the Doctor where the blood is coming from, ( wether it's fresh blood coming from the opening to your Anus or darker blood coming from deeper inside your bowel). You have to go to the Doctors, whatever it is making you bleed, they can fix...
