I got infected with genital warts 5 years ago (have NOT had many sex partners - only 6 - and ONCE I had a boyfriend who I had unprotected sex with - but no ejaculation occurred - anyway..), had an outbreak, had a doctor see it, treated it with liquid nitrogen, have been healthy since.
I am now seeing a male whom I am considering spending the rest of my life with, and while of course we've been safe and I have told him about the disease - is it likely that he'll get it too? Or is it possible because it's been dormant for so long and there is no "outbreak" that he will not get it? Is it possible he'll just get the virus and no outbreak? Or is it probably guaranteed, that if I marry him and we have unprotected sex, that he will get the virus and there's nothing we can do? Or is it passed most commonly only when there is an outbreak, like herpes? Speaking of which - I don't understand how someone could have herpes (dormant) and not pass it on (it's a virus too)?

It is more than likely that he will contract the disease from you but never exhibit any symptoms. That is the reason that genital warts are so common, because there is no way of testing for the virus that causes them (HPV) in men, and men almost never have symptoms. More than likely he´ll be ok.

I got clinically diagnosed with herpes (type 2) about 4 yrs ago, whilst I was still in college and had a dumb one-night stand. I realize lots of young women say this, but I swear I had never done that sort of thing before. I just made a mistake that one time and all of a sudden I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for my entire life. The hardest part was feeling I could never date other men again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone who has sores around her private parts? But since a friend shared this movie https://tr.im/8BQuY everything got better.

Not only was I able to remove all remnants of the hsv from my system in less than three weeks, but I was also able to begin dating again. I even met the guy of my dreams and I'm so lucky to write that just last week, in front of everyone in a busy restaurant, he got down on one knee and proposed to me!! This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love again. Now I hope that I can help others too by sharing this story.

It is possible for you to spread the disease even without an outbreak, but don't worry about it. If you're careful and have it treated when you do have an outbreak, the chances of spreading it are far less likely. Once you have this disease, you always have it. It never goes away. I had it in my late teens or early 20's. I did the liquid nitrogen thing, even had to have laser surgery. When I met up with my husband, before we did anything, I told him about it. I had already been over it for two years. No big deal. We got married, have three wonderful children, and I have never had anything like that happen again!
