I was told once that fruits and veggies have all the vitamins we need to survive. But if you plan on eating that way you have to be extremely cautios to get all your vitamins and keep track that you are. I say why not add fish and grains too. It just seems healthier to me. Oh yeah dark chocolate and a hamburger every once and a while for treats so You won't go crazy!!! LOL.

No. Your body does need protein to survive. You don't have to eat meat to get it, eggs, peanuts, or vitamin supplements will do the trick too.

i say nay. my knowledge on this subject reveals that you cannot get everything you need from one source. our bodies need diversity to be healthy. one person i knew who was a fruitarian told me he was always cold and hungry unless it was really hot outside. he said the person who lead this idea died of severe edema. to my understanding they were using the idea that primates are vegetarian, so we can be too out of our relation. truth is primates are not vegetarian. they eat insects and larvae that are adhered to plant material. hindus that have left india and moved to england suffered b12 deficiency diseases because the cleanliness of vegetables removed their source of insects. vitamin b12 only comes from animal products. one person i know who was vegan went to an acupuncturist because she was always getting sick. she got better because the theapist was putting insects in her herbal rememdy. so, if you don't want to eat bugs, raw milk is a good vegetarian option (pastuerized milk doesn't have it). plant sources that have b12 are not absorbable by the body, so i don't know how vegans can get it.
