Hey!
How could you possible ask for the name of an Italian dish in French?! Please!!!!!
Ok, that being said...
The thing with Italian kitchen is that is very varied from region to region. What is popular in one extreme, might not be popular at all in the other.
My choices would be:
- Fettucini Alfredo
(pronounced: FEH-TOO-CHEÉ-NEE AL-FRÉD-OH"
Pasta with a white sauce and ham. Very popular among adults and also kids. Nice to the mouth and very soft.
- Carpaccio
(pronounced: CAR-PÁH-CHEE-OH")
Is raw meat or fish, cut in very thin layers and served with parmiggiano cheese, funghi (mushrooms), olive oil and pepper, usually as an antipasti (what you eat before your main dish).
- Milanesa a la parmiggiana
(pronounced: MEE-LAN-EH-SAH AH LAH PAR-MEE-YA-NAH"
I can't describe this to you. It''s just too delicious and it waters my mouth. It's red meat, or chicken, that are first covered with flour, egg and bread crumbs, then fried... and then covered with a tomato sauce with cheese and, sometimes, ham (ATTENTION: tomato sauce is not ketchup PLEASE!)
And... I'm going to give you one extra:
- Lasagna di melanzane (eggplant lasagna)
(pronounced: LAH-SAH-ÑA DIH MEL-AN-ZAH-NEH)
The name pretty much explains it! I think you know what a lasagna is. This one has no pasta though, just layers of eggplant! (If you fried them before making the lasagne you will thank me later!)
That's it!
Well, the pizza (promounced PIZZA!), and the Risotto (RIH-SOH-TOH) and also classics you should know! But I stick with my choices!
Goodluck!

Fettuccini Alfredo isn't an Italian dish, I'm an Italian living in Italy and I've never heard about it in my life!
In Italy that dish doesn't exist!
It is an American invention...e meno male che alla ragazza che ti ha risposto scorre sangue italiano nelle vene...
