It is all about munching on different textures of what is inside the sushi. Most people who don't like sushi are afraid of eating anything raw like fish, seafood and nori(seawood), whether it is nigiri or maki types.

I like sushi because everytime I try one or any new combination, it is a whole different food experience. There are certain places around the world that ridicule us how they present sushi like Japan. There's one restaurant that presents sushi as a reflection of their culture with nature and the environment. Yet they still keep it simple. Here in the US, it is all about combining ingredients that are delicious and having different textures in your tongue. This is my perspective of biting sushi when I have one.

When I eat California rolls, it's just the texture and feeling of the rice/seaweed/cucumber/avocado/and crab meat in my mouth that I enjoy so much and keeps bringing me back for more. Different Sushi has different appeals to everyone. It just works because it's not tooo strong of a taste, and not to less of a taste. You can eat sushi w/ or w/out soy sauce and either way it still tastes great. I love it all!

I just love Sushi and Sashimi, the Seaweed is also good, but I have had a taste for Sushi for the last 20 years. It is just plain good, my opinion.

For me, it is a combination of the saltiness and the texture of the rice/seaweed. I love sushi rice.

If it's good fresh raw fish, there is a sweetness in the taste. The softness of the texture is also something unique in raw fish.

Its the freshness of the meat that sushi-eater loves. the rice is just a compliment to tje meat. eat sashimi if you want to have a taste of "freshness"

I'm Asian and don't love sushi...not my taste at all.

lol
For those who love sushi, it's mostly the "taste" and raw healthier food.

Rice and seaweed don't really taste like anything, it's whatever else is involved. I don't really care why, it just tastes SO good!

The combination just works. Don't question the art of the Japanese. I bet it's to remain a secret. :)

possibly pretention and sheep-like behavior because some snob fool told you it was chic. Eating raw fish is moronic.
