We are getting married in less than a month now and I am waiting to buy all the food until the week before but I wanted to know if anyone has ideas as far was what else to serve besides just tacos. I don't want it to seem like a Mexican Wedding theme...but what other types of food would compliment it? Thanks for your help :)

Tortilla chips w/ sides like salsa, cheese, guacamole, and sour cream @ each table would be nice....re fried beans...How about mini quesadillas...a cilantro corn salad is light and refreshing also and would go nice. I have enclosed a recipe for it. I can see why you are stuck:)Good luck and congrats!!!

This serves about 6-8 peeps
10 ears fresh corn, husked
2 pounds plum tomatoes, cut into 1/2-inch cubes
3/4 cup finely chopped red onion
1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1 tablespoon red wine vinegar

Cook corn in large pot with boiling salted water until just tender, about 5 minutes. Drain; cool to room temperature. Cut corn kernels from cobs. Transfer corn to large bowl. Add remaining ingredients; toss to blend. Season salad to taste with salt and pepper. (I don't make mine more then 12-24 hours in advance)

If the major food stuff at the reception is Taco's you're pretty much pigeon holing the food theme to Mexican. Be sure to have lots of chips, salsa & guacemole. Good luck and congrats on getting married!!

Well if you want foods to compliment it, you'll probably end up with mostly mexican themed foods. . .But you could have, corn bread, rice, salad, beans, roasted chicken, pasta of some sort. . . . Either that or maybe keep the tacos on one side, and then on the other side have something completely different like some italian food or something, and then people can choose what table they would like.

A mexican theme woudld be cool. get some Tortilla shells aslo so people can do soft or hard tacos. A make your own burrito bar would be really cool, and not require anything extra.

Tacos seem a bit messy for people all dressed up.
Pineapple, bananas, etc.
