I am not sure if I do or do not have genital warts, I will go see a doctor in a few days, but I just realized that it might be that. A few months ago I got a bump, I thought it was an ingrown hair and I'm still not sure that it wasn't, but it didn't pop like a zit and was a little bigger, then it went a way. I keep getting this bump, but only one at a time never in bunches every few weeks on a different spot each time for the most part. Today I found out that a girl I had intercourse with 2 months ago has genital warts, or at least that's the rumor. I will find out if I have it and if I do what does this mean for the rest of my life? Once I get married and want to have unprotected sex does that automatically mean I will spread the virus when I try to get my wife pregnant? Or is it only spread when I am on an outbreak? I just want to know if no matter what now when I have unprotected sex I will spread it and basically that means I can't have kids without passing the disease.

#1 it's impossible to diagnose it from online, so go see your doctor
#2 the only treatment available now for men is to get them chemically removed (hurts like hell, but you gotta do what you gotta do), in the most severe cases you'll get medication, but not usually
#3 you will always carry the virus in some capacity if it is in fact genital warts, even if you may have no visible symptoms, like herpes, it still is possible to transmit the disease. You may get one outbreak and be done for the rest of your life, or warts may pop up every few weeks, it really is random.
#4 the thing you should do is go see a doctor, get treatment, and be honest with anyone you sleep with, and for crying out loud, wear a condom--deal with the marriage thing later, you sound young so don't worry about it yet.

Without seeing what is on your genitals, it's not really possible for any of us to figure out what you have. It could be genital warts or it could be a symptom of something far more serious.
When in doubt, you should always go see a doctor rather than trying to self diagnose your problem which is always the wrong way to go about treating a potential health problem.
But if it will make you feel better, this is the current information on genital warts. Genital warts are caused by the human papillomavirus and there are many different strains.
There is no cure for genital warts but doctors can prescribe treatments. But even without treatment, your immune system will usually get rid of them on its own. Wart can reoccur and it is possible to be infected for your lifetime depending on how resistant your immune system is.
The virus is highly contagious if it is present on the skin and it is possible to be infectious even if you are not displaying symptoms. Many people infected may never show any symptoms whatsoever.

It doesn't matter what a doctor would do, because s/he'd probably be doing it with at least a decade's worth of medical experience and, more importantly, sterile equipment. Seriously though, go to a dermatologist if warts keep coming back. The doctor will remove the wart in a far more precise way. It'll increase the odds that your body's immune system will recognize the virus and clear it out. Just using salicylic acid won't have the same effect.

If you do have warts, you probably will always have them.
You could burn them off, or have the lasered off.
Sometimes the body can clear itself, but usually yes, it means that you could pass them on to your future wife with unprotected sex.
Now, however, there is a vaccine for woman, so you may be in ok shape if she didn't have them before... She now can get vaccinated.
good luck at the doc.

One please see the doctor but HPV takes 3 month or longer to show up on a test. Males are not as likely to get an outbreak as much as females. Yes if you do end up having it yes you will pass it on to whomever you have sexual contact with (unprotected). Most likely it is an ingrown hair or just a deep pimple. HPV shows up like skin tags and they look just like a peice of skin that has been pinched. They also for in clusters not one by one. PLEASE talk to a doctor and don't panic.

You have genital warts.
get them removed.
Yes, unprotected sex will pass the HPV.
Your children will not have it unless your partner has active warts at the time of delivery.
doctors give anti virals to take care of that.
good luck.
