Can you eat smurts?
And if so would you eat them with tofu
or with something more like a mushroom and spinach bruschetta
or maybe couccous with pine nuts dried frut and smurfs
I think that would look pretty nice with all of the colors.

I think, technically, smurfs are alive. The point of being a vegan is to sustain your life while not taking another. Which is really hard to do since lettuce is alive and actually has a pain threshold. But, I digress . . . Anyway, since Smurfs are techinically alive I would have to say NO Vegans would not eat smurfs.

Just wondering why you call yourself "matzaballboy"... do you know that one of the largest percentages of vegetarians are Jewish? In the Talmud it says that Israel is the land of milk and honey and most scholars believe that this is b/c they're the only 2 foods you can get without taking a life. Also, many scholars believe that the Kashrut was designed to lead to vegetarianism. AND there were several Jewish vegetarian restaurants in Germany before WWII - making them pioneers in that field of service.

Oh.. and to answer your question, I've never come across a "smurt" before, so I couldn't tell you if one was vegetarian or not.

I assume the following...

1.) smurts=smurfs
2.) couccous=couscous
3.) frut=fruit
4.) you are not a vegan
5.) and I won't be receiving 10 pts.

Am I real close, darlin?

I don't know about "smurts", but "smurfs" are meat.
