A reaction from a TB test can mean more than one thing it could mean you have simply been exposed to it or it could mean that you have it. The way that the doctor tells if you have TB is by measuring the spot on your arm and if it is a certain diameter, this size is not the same for all patients though.

Go back to the doctor. If you have a reaction then you are positive for exposure to TB. This doesn't mean that you have full blown TB it just means that you've been exposed. It could also be a false positive. Go to the doctor - this is not something to fool around with.

If there is swelling in the site it is an indication of possible TB and they won't let you leave. If it is any other kind of reaction you may be allergic to something in the testing fluid etc and you need to see a doctor.

You can have an over sensitive response to the test and not have TB-- you should have a chest x-ray-- if the x-ray is negative for TB, then you are. Health care workers have to be tested yearly and I have a fellow coworker who does not get the PPD yearly because she was overly sensitive to the test--the X-ray is negative on her, so they avoid having her get the injection.

Yes. The reaction might be a raised red area out from and around the test site and/or a rash.

If you are allergic to the TB test then you have TB. That is the reason fro getting the test. If you had the test and the area where you got the test is swlled and puffy please go back to your doctor.

no i dont think so. if your skin reacted then that means that you probably have tb. if it itches or has grown in size since the time you got it then that is not a good sign.
