I was told today that I am diabetic, and given a test kit to test it during the day.
Are things going to change for me health and physically.
I have been sleeping like 12 hours lately, and never did before, is this from diabities?

Yes your life is going to change forever. I was diagnosed 4 years ago, and there are a lot of changes. First, you'll have to eat a lot healthier and small portions. That nearly killed me, I've always been a big eater. If you exercise that will help keep your b.s. lower. I am a type 2, which means I take oral medication. I can't do the physical work I used to do(but that may be my age, 38) It isn't the end of the world though. I just don't eat anything with sugar and watch my carbs. My advice is to always keep something to snack on and don't o.d. on artificial sweeteners, they'll give you the runs. If you would like to ask more ? email me at toddmayo67@yahoo.com

No. I have type I diabetes and I was diagnosed when I was little like 8 years old.
Right now you're getting used to the concept of being a diabetic. Things will be different for now.
When you get used to it it will be like second nature to you.
As long as you keep doing what you're supposed to do. Test your blood sugar regularly, take your meds, keep your doc appointments, exercise, eat well...you'll be fine.
You are in control of your diabetes. It is not in control of you.
It's easy to stay in control...sometimes when I think of all of the conditions and diseases in the world, I thank God I'm a diabetic...it's controllable, it's not disabiling, and it's not a death sentence....I wouldn't trade it for any other condition.

I'm sorry this happened to you. The diabetics I know have to be careful with diet and exercise, but lead very normal lives. Some just take a pill, some an injection.

If you let things go this can go downhill very quickly though, so learn all about it and pay attention.

Yes it may be. I have been a diabetic since I was 14 and yes there will be a whole lot of changes but it just takes a matter of getting used to it. It is quite simple to take care of yourself once you are completely informed of how to. Doing research of your own helps to. Good Luck!
