it's actually boiled bones, hooves, connective tissue and skin from animals. some chewing gum even has it in it! ewww! and marshmallows, Jello, beano, (if you can believe that) and it is also what medicine capsules are made of! So if you are a vegetarian (like me) or a vegan, you'll wanna read lots of labels to everything!

This is from Wekipedia.com:

"Gelatin (also gelatine) is a translucent brittle solid substance, colorless or slightly yellow, nearly tasteless and odorless, which is created by prolonged boiling of animal skin, connective tissue or bones. It has many uses in food, medicine, and manufacturing. Substances that contain or resemble gelatin are called gelatinous. Gelatin is also known as E number E441."

That's GROSS!!! I would never eat or use that stuff... I didn't even know why! Now I know! I was being protected by a Higher Power! Whew!!!

Thanks for asking the Question; I never would have looked it up if you hadn't!

SO, Dog Food is made from horse meat, and Chinese Food uses Cats & Dogs! It's called the food pyramid. They also use Horse Hooves for Glue.

It's not gross if you think about what's in a hot dog. Is a juicy steak or pork chop on the bone gross? Most gravy and stalk is made from bone marrow drippings. And.. hey, ever chomped down on something chewy in a sausage? It's not fear factor, it's just Jell-O! Slurp it up BABY!!!

Yes, this is why I don't eat things with gelatin in them like altoids, skittles, some peanuts and yogurt, some chocolates, etc.

I don't really think it's that gross. It's just using more of the animal which makes it seem better to slaughter cows.
