i have been searching for menthol crystals (for my sheesha flavour) desperately. people here hardly understand english. can anyone PLEASE PLEASE tell me where i can find menthol crystals or any kind of peppermint flavour here in HoChiMinh City (Saigon), Vietnam?

In all due respect... If you're finding it hard to speak English to the natives in Saigon, you're probably doing something to piss them off or they may not understand your English. Every other Viet there speaks English, and many of them fluently.
If you can find a way to talk to one of the natives, ask them where the nearest co-op market is. The co-op market is the Viet's version of a Wal-Mart Superstore. I believe there is three relatively close to downtown.
If you can't find it there, then you may want to try to expat village Southwest of the city near the golf course. There is a convenience store similar to an A & P or 7/11 that may carry menthol crystals.
If the issue you have is a sore throat (which could be the reason why the natives don't understand you), you may want to try some native fixes. Odds are that you are sucking in all the fumes from the motorbike traffic, which is causing your sore throat. Ginger root tea, or any tea for that matter will burn your sore throat out. Keep your throat moist as best as you can, and wear a mask when going through the city.
