I imagine you are kind of joking, but if not, make something simple like pasta and tomato sauce. When does right this is a gorgeous meal. Serve it with parmesan, salad and garlic bread. Dirt cheap, tasty and nutritious.
Tom sauce:
1 onion
2 cloves of garlic crushed
1 tin chopped tomatoes
salt
basil
Method.
Finely chop onion and fry gently with crushed garlic for 5-10 minutes then add the can of tomatoes, basil and salt and very slowly simmer for about 30-40 minutes until it is fairly thick.
Yum-eee

They would notice. Those Veggie meat substitutes taste NOTHING like the real thing. They have achieved texture and sort of look like real meat but taste like soybeans or worse in my opinion.
Save the steak for yourself. You'll enjoy it. The vegitarians will be offended by serving them steak. Serving them steak would be like serving bacon to a Muslim or Pork chops to a Jew. If they are Vegan rather than just vegitarian they will be mortally offended. They will also be offended by any animal products at all such as leather goods, milk, butter, etc. If it contains animal goods like most cakes and breads again it will be offensive to them. The good news is that veggies are cheap. Heap up a ton of rice with beans, sprinkle some sort of spice for flavor as veggies are a diet so bland that it makes meat and tators seem spicy. Potatoes are also a great possibility. I believe margion is made without animal products, but don't put the cheese out if they are vegans. Most vegitarians have no problem with cheese but Vegan's will be highly offended by it.
Again you can serve a full meal for dirt cheap. Sack of tators is a few bucks. Add a couple tomatoes or something like that.
Then ENJOY your steak another day. Mmm love the taste of a good steak.

Pasta contains eggs. Do NOT serve normal pasta to Vegan's. You have to buy special egg free pasta which is as expensive as the steak. Anything with eggs will be offensive to Vegans. Normal vegitarians often eat eggs and likely will not mind pasta.

nicely, you could continually see if there's a vegetarian team on campus, at the start, so which you will get to fulfill greater "ppl". If no longer, you could attempt to start one. As for the BBQ, attempt to ask the organizers if there will be vegetarian thoughts. If that may not an selection, consume in the past and notice what factors you've. If human beings be conscious you're no longer ingesting plenty, be elementary and tell them you're veg. case in point, if somebody asks in case you have eaten although, you could say some thing like, "No, i'm vegetarian, so i do no longer consume although." If human beings think of much less of you considering which you're vegetarian, it rather is their concern, and you do no longer choose to be pals with somebody who immediately thinks veg*ans are pretentious.

Don't serve them meat. It's not so much the taste but what their bodies are accustomed to. In my vegetarian days, a friend gave me chicken soup when I was very sick and it served only to make me sicker. Stretch out your meal with a veggie soup and rice. Get creative with whatever is in your larder.

Absolutely not! It will be obvious it's not a meat substitute - nothing tastes like real steak & they will immediatley recognise it, and they will be absolutely horrified and insulted and offended that you've shown such a total lack of respect for them,

Don't serve them steak, they will know the difference, and for some reason if they didn't, wouldn't you feel bad for feeding it to them. Make something simple that doesn't have any meat in it.

I am a vegetarian and if I knew that you were serving me real meat I would probably not talk to you anymore that is total disrespect.

even if they couldn't tell, don't serve them the steak. they would be offended. how would you feel if , when you were veggie, you went to someone's house and they tried to sneak you some meat?
don't be slick- save your steaks for you and be honest with your friends.
