It would seem that eating fruit is actually less cruel than eating vegetables (since you don't kill the plant or tree).

A fruitarian diet is more spiritually powerful, but not for everyone. The least harmful food in the world is fruit fallen from trees. But surely not all veggie harvesting kills the plant? In any case I don't think the word "cruel" applies.

,I took a college class on nutrition and asked to professor about fruitarians. She said that the diet is almost harder then the brown rice diet. Seeing that fruitarians only eat what has fallen from the bush or tree and is therefor already dead. Finding their protein in nuts. Is what I understood her to say. Hope it helped.

The word "vegetarian" doesn't mean "vegetable eater", but "plant eater", so it doesn't matter if you eat fruit or vegetables, you're still just a plain old vegetarian.

Can you get enough of the nutrients from just fruit...

Also, tomatoes are supposed to be a fruit... it sounds confusing.

But as long as you can get what you need from it... go for it.
