Could be. Do you find yourself peeing a lot, or being excessively thirsty? Those are also signs of diabetes. But everyone presents differently. It might not be a bad idea to get checked. Before you went to the dr, did you eat that day? If you hadn't when was the last time you ate? Your last food consumption can have an effect on your results. If you ate 2 hrs before, and your sugar was low, then you could have diabetes, or hyperthyroidism or a number of other conditions. If you hadn't had anything to eat for 6 hr or more, then it may not be either.. it may be just the way y ou operate. Everyone is different. I would followup with your doctor, get tested. Its not hard to be tested, normally its a few blood tests and you have your diagnosis. Low blood sugar doesn't always mean that you have diabetes, it may be hypoglycemia, which is another totally different condition. There are treatments for it, so the best thing to do is see your doctor. Keep a log of your pains, and are you dieting or eating a well balanced diet. If you are purposly trying to lose weight, then thats why you lost weight. If you've lost that much without trying, then it could be hypoglycemia, diabetes, hyperthyroid (your thyroid gland works too much) or any number of conditions. Good Luck!

I am not a doctor, so my first comment is that you should ask one.
However, my mother is a type-1 diabetic, and my uncle-in-law is a type-2 diabetic, and both are constantly asking me if I find myself craving significant amounts of water over what I drank, say, a year ago.
If your water intake is about the same, then you're probably having a different issue. However, a doctor can tell you for sure.

You probably don't have diabetes. If you had diabetes and it wasn't being treated you would have HIGH blood sugar.
There are conditions where insulin is released in excess. You might want to be tested for that.
Alternatively, you may wish to stop the junky food and have proper stuff with low Glycemic index. That'll probably fix your tummy pains, nausea and low sugars

HYPOGLYCEMIA is the OPPOSITE to diabetes. Diabetes is also known has HYPERglycemia.
If you've been diagnosed with HYPOglycemia, I wouldn't be worrying about diabetes...although, oddly enough they can be treated in similar ways.
You need to talk to your doctor about treatment programs, medications and diet to keep your hypoglycemia under control. Both Hypo and Hyper glycemia can have life threatening affects if left unchecked and untreated.

When you are tested for diabetes, they check your blood sugar level. If it turns out abnormal, they will do a fasting blood sugar test, which means you don't eat for a period of time before you get tested. You probably are Hypoglycemic. When you have diabetes, usually your blood sugar runs high. Yes, get tested.

Do the physical exam and let the doc/pa know of your symptoms. Keep notes on when the pain occurs, at night, after eating, any specific foods, etc. Do the diabetes test if appropriate.

When in doubt try a vegan diet. A recent study found that the vegan diet will reverse type-2 diabetes. See http://www.vegetarianorganiclife.com/ I believe a vegan diet will help the type-1 diabetic too.

Go to the great plains laboratory website and call the 800 number. Describe your symptoms/condition, and ask for a doctor that uses great plains methods. They will also send you a free information packet. They can do amazing things by altering your diet. What can you lose by giving it a try?
