I had sex about a month ago with someone I barely no (regretfully) and within days I started getting a slight discharge that progressed to what I thought was a yeast infection. I bought some over the counter med for yeast infections. It helped a bit, but, my vaginal area is now irratated not ichy. I am also experiencing fatigue, my back feels tight (my shoulders are fine)and my rib cage hurts terribly. Could an STD infection cause this kind of pain and can it move to one area?

Your pain may be a coincidence, but you really need to see a doctor and make sure you don't have an infection. The rib cage and back pain sound like you may also have gallstones. Please go to the doctor as soon as you can. And please use a condom next time.

it sounds like you have a uti that progressed into a kidney infection. it can be caused by sex. when you have sex bacteria is pushed up the urethra, which causes the uti. if left untreated, the bacteria can collect in your kidney which would cause that type of pain. and the discharge could have been the same bacteria coming out, and the irritation happens if you have the bacteria in your urine. go to a doc, if it is this, then you will be fine after some antibiotics, but don't wait because it can cause more problems.

I am not that up on STD's. Do go to your doctor. You could get meningitis and die. You obviously got something. Sooner you get it taken care of the better!

It could be syphilis or chlymidia. Both are infections, and if not treated, can travel to your blood stream and cause super-infection or sepsis. I would go to the doc and get checked.

Either gonorrhea or chlamdia can progress to pelvic inflammatory disease, which can render you sterile and cause the pain you describe.
