rice + hot sauce. Good, cheap, tasty.
In plain rice, I like Texas Pete hot sauce but you can never go wrong with Red Hot.

First off, I'd suggest you don't use minute rice. Even the brown rice doesn't have much nutritional value or flavor, plus which, it doesn't really cook all that well. Gets kind of pasty.
Here's a rice recipe that's served me with regular white, or basmati rice, and would work pefrectly well for brown rice, though if you are cooking brown rice you should be ready for a thirty minute cooking time. I'll decribe it as I would white or (my favorite for taste) basmati.
Take about an eight of a stick of butter and melt it at the bottom of a sauce pan with the flame on low. Don't let it burn... just watch till it gets soft. Pour a cup of rice on it and let it cook for a few minutes... three at the most. You'll start to hear a little crackling sound as the butter invades the rice. Now you're ready for the water.
Pour in a cup and a half of water, and raise the heat to medium. When the water gets to boiling evenly, turn the heat back down low, and at this point put in a shake of basil and a tiny bit of salt.
Cover the pan and let it cook about twelve minutes (for the white/basmati) twenty five to thirty minutes (for the brown rice)...
Lift the lid and check on the rice. If the water is all gone, and there are little craters in the rice, like bubbles have burst there, you are done. Turn off the flame and cover the rice while you finish whatever else you are preparing.
The rice should be really fluffy now, and tasty as all get out.

2 ideas. Throw in your nuts like almonds, hazelnuts, chick peas, dried fruits like raisins, apricots or prunes. Add a little bit of olive oil and your favourite spices (salt and pepper will do just fine). All this to be added into the water when you are cooking the rice. You eat as soon as the rice is cooked. Isn't that great?
Another idea is pineapple rice. I use 1/3 fresh pineapple juice and 2/3 water, ground red chilli powder and a dash of tumeric powder when cooking the rice. Add cut pineapple when the rice is 1/2 to 3/4 cooked.

There is something I like to call chicken cheesy rice goodness.
Cook the rice then add some cooked cubed chicken, cream of mushroom or chicken soup, and some cheese and mix it all together. It's great and cheap and easy!

As the rice is cooking (per box directions), add some cooked chicken, sliced water chestnuts, and some corn. It is very tasty and makes a good meal.

hmmm just rice... well switch to jasmine rice and cook it in coconut milk... its FANTASTIC. have it with grilled chicken breast and salad. For your rice perhaps you could cook it as normal either steam or boil and make a stir fry with beef and vegies such as zucchini capsicum chilli sesame seeds just chuck it heaps of vegies and lightly fry them in sesame oil or extra virgin olive oil. put them over the rice and ITS YUM CHA TIME!
The best thing you can do with cooking is be creative and just experiment.
p.s TENDORISE YOUR MEAT. which basically means beat the crap out of it so it makes it nice and tender before you cook it.
