I love being a vegetarian. I was raised that way, never having had meat, including seafood, in my whole life. So I can't answer your question about choice, except that I choose to continue because I get physically sick around meat sometimes, especially if I smell bacon. I must be conditiond that way. It just grosses me out.

I guess it is easy if you know what kinds of dishes are filling and tasty. To get enough vitamins and protein and still have super tasty food, try these cuisines -- there are lots of vegetarian cookbooks available for each of these:

1. Indian (South indian, especially) -- Remember that millions of people are strict (not even eggs!) vegetarians in India, so this is the best place to turn to for veg food that is not bland. Most people in south India are vegetarian, and the cuisine is designed that way.

2. Italian -- There is a book called "The Italian Vegatrian Cookbook"

3. Mexican -- I do eat cheese, and sometimes I indulge myself with cheesy Mexican. Most dishes can be made veggie by substituting beans for meat.

Good Luck!

I love being a vegetarian ... I became one for a few reasons , 1 was i just cant stand the thought of eating a living creature ... for me the idea of eating a cow is around the same place as eating a human ... not gona happen ... 2 is my religion ... i believe that you should never kill or eat a creature jsut for the pleasure of it ... we have alternatives to the seemingly endless slaughtering of innocent creatures ... alot of people say that vegetarians lack nutrition and there brains malfuntion .. this is the biggest load of bs ive ever heard ... ask any mother that is vegetarian or vegan thats raised her children in that way , and she'll tell you that there jsut fine ... as for me ive been vegetarian over half my life (i dont eat eggs or drink milk , but i do eat cheese on occasion) and ive never been hungry , annorexic or sick in anyway , i feel healthier than before and i have more energy ...

I never "chose" to be a vegetarian. For complicated reasons I ate no meat for a month, and then it tasted so disgusting I couldn't ever put it in my mouth again! It's great being meat-free - food tastes clean now; meat tastes dead - because it is!

All the results have been positive - I'm much healthier than when I ate animal corpses. Once in a while somebody asks me if I miss meat, and I tell them I miss it as much as I missed poopy diapers when my baby got toilet trained. I cannot imagine ever wanting meat again.

I mostly like it. It's a bit more work to maintain, especially when eating out, but it's worth it to me. I became one because I just kinda felt sick if I thought about what I was eating when I ate meat, and felt bad because I love animals.(Cows, for instance, are adorable.) I don't really think there is anything wrong with other people eating meat in general, as long as it isn't something cruelly raised/killed (ie: veal), since humans are designed to be omnivorous.

I made the choice for a lot of reasons (economic, ecological, animal cruelty, health and ethical reasons.) Yes, I like it and it's been an easy thing for me. I'm 20 years in and I've never looked back.

yes, whats there to regret? Meat substitues are widely available and the choices of food that are meatless are just as delicious and popular...it might be hard for some in the starting, but u will get used to it if u put in enuf effort..

No! I freakin' hate being a vegetarian. If humans weren't such jerks I wouldn't have to be. I eat organic, cruelty free meat occasionally from my boyfriend's uncle's farm but I won't buy meat from the store because suppliers treat animals so horribly. We can eat meat and not be cruel people!

Yes. I had been a vegetarian for 2 Weeks. but i had to quit. since those artificial meats, egg and tofu are very expensive. I guess I'll be a vegetarian again if I would get rich.

I love it and there is so many foods to make and try. I feel better these last 8 years :) To me the thought of eating a dead animal gags me and being raised on a farm I just thought of eating my pet cattle and the chickens. Plus when you kill and prepare them there is no worse putrid smell:(
