Yep. It's nice to have a dinner bought for you, but if you go dutch occasionally you keep your pride and a symbolic amount of independence.

And if I'm not that keen on a guy I'll go dutch, or if it's just out with mates.

Some people do that, yes. I some times refer to it as, going German. why? The original Dutch came from Pennsylvania, and they were German. But people thought they were speaking Dutch.

No. Never. Even when I am out with female friends I make sure to pay. Sometimes I will let a girl pay for something little on a date like cotton candy or snowcones or whatever but the brunt of the cost must be borne by me.

The man is lucky to have the priviledge of paying for the woman's night out. If it doesn't go well and you don't go out again then that's just the CDB (cost of doing business).

Of course they do - especially if they are trying to live in expensive cities. The only reasons you wouldn't were if one partner earned significantly more than the other/it's a special occasion/you feel like paying that night/or the woman was only going with the guy for money... which basically makes her something she should aspire not to be.
