No, you are just a moron. Judging by your beliefs and your spelling skills.

Eating veggie burgers means you like burger shaped food but not enough to kill something for it. This isn't hypocritical. Turkey dogs are made from turkey meat so there is a concern there if you are trying not to eat dead birds. Eating cheese and dairy does involve a cow in an unnatural lifestyle and involves some deaths. (The cow will be impregnated to keep milk production up and if she has a boy calf it will be sold as meat, girls go on to make milk. The cow giving the milk in a commercial dairy herd will be killed at about age 4 because her production will go down. Normally cows can live to be 12+.) The hypocrisy there is your call, as you getting milk doesn't cause a cow's death directly.
I think your mother is yanking your chain because when a kid is a vegetarian it is and inconvenience to the parent. It would be nicer of her to applaud you efforts to be kind to animals. Cutting out any animal products is a demonstration of your respect for life. Do what you can, don't worry about the cheese. When you get older and move out of the house you can have vegetarian friends. Read about nutrition from www.veganoutreach.org and make an effort to stay healthy.

I didn't give up meat because of the taste, but because of the compassion I felt for animals being slaughtered. The thought of eating meat now makes me want to gag. Veggie burgurs and dogs are a nice substitute, especially at barbecues. It is not being hypocritical at all. You get to enjoy the taste of your burger, and you don't harm any animals in the process.

It does not kill an animal to make cheese but some strict vegetarians do not eat milk, cheese, etc. but many still do since it isn't harming an animal. Vegi-burgers or dogs have nothing to do with eating an animal so no it is not hypocritical she is just grasping at straws to make you feel like you are wrong to be vegetarian.

Typically, nothing is killed for cheese, so if that is your motive for being a vegetarian, then you are not being hypocritical. If you are vegetarian because of cruelty to animals, then cheese may be considered somewhat hypocritical. However, I remind you that it's nearly impossible to not be hypocritical in *something* in your life. And making 75% of an effort to be a better person is better than making no effort at all.

Remember, uneducated people are going to call you names your whole life for something or another. Learn to let it roll off your back.

Tell her that she is hurting your feelings and that you want her to stop. It's unfair to you to have her insulting you for trying to do the right thing.

Good luck to you.

PS - most plurals are not apostrophized. The plural of vegetarian is "vegetarians".

I am that way I don't really eat that much cheese though or milk but, I do eat boca burgers, and chicken. Hey MOM!! It is good you don't have to worry about what the cow was doing a week ago. Yes, there are different types of vegitarian. I have seen people list them here. This is a good site to have.

No, you're not a hypocrite. Tell her that you've stopped eating meat because you don't agree with animals being killed to feed you. Neither cheese nor veggieburgers involve animals being killed.

(Wait a sec... you mentioned turkey dogs... so yeah, if you're saying that eating meat is bad but you're eating turkey, THAT would be hypocritical.)

no you are not hiprocritical. your a vegetarian not a vegan. but i thought that if you were a vegetarian you did not eat any animals in cluding turkey so i don't know if you can be considered a vegetarian.

alot of cheese is made with magical "enzymes". they come from a magical land called The Stomach of a Dead Baby Cow. they are here because milk is actually intended for growing cows (give yourself a min to let that sink in)... ok, now, because calves can actually fully digest cow's milk (because it was meant for them, you see), unlike people, they have special enzymes in their stomachs that begin the digestion of milk by curdling it.

there are other kinds of rennet (microbial), and vegetarian/vegan cheese is near the tofu in the grocery store.

You are only a hypocrite if you tell others not to do something and you do it yourself. So the turkey dogs? Yeah, get rid of them.
