You love your family and you are mature and responsible. You feel very protective of them and when they are not near you, you worry that you can't be there to help if needed. I don't know where this sense of enormous responsibility comes from. Perhaps your dad is not around and you are the man of the house? idk, but I do know you are an incredibly giving and caring person. I think your best bet would be to talk to your mom about it. Maybe she will be able to make you feel better. Communicating is always a great way to ease ones mind. Your mom maybe able to tell you reasons why you shouldn't worry so much, and you may be able to tell her why you feel so anxious. If this does not help, maybe you can speak to a counselor who could tell you the root of the problem. If that doesn't help, then the final step would be trying medicine for anxiety. Anyway, good luck....you sound like an amazing person. *hugs* :)

Have you just recently started being left home alone? This used to happen to me when I was younger and it worsened when my mom started letting me stay home alone. I used to handle it by praying, then reassuring myself that my family would be fine and distracting myself with something like homework, calling a friend, or listening to music. I've gotten more used to my family leaving since then and I'm not anxious as often anymore. So I never needed anxiety pills and very likely you don't either. You're probably normal and there is one good thing: it shows that you care about your family, which is very valuable trait.

If the anxiety is really bad and it begins to interfere with your life, maybe your anxiety was worse than mine is, and perhaps you do need medicine for it. But whatever you do, do not initiate treatment on your own! Mention it the next time you see your doctor and he can recommend something for you, or if necessary, see a psychologist.

Good luck!

You are having flashbacks from a previous lifetime. Maybe back then your family got eaten by a bear and never came back. The chances of something happening are slim, so redirect your focus to something like "God bless them and keep them safe for me." It's up to God (or the universe, basically anyone but you) to take care of them and you worrying is not a good investment of your nerves. Even if something did happen, you would eventually be strong enough to have other people in your life to love. Don't take pills. You can think your way through this.

Talking this out with a therapist or a least your parents would help even more! This is probably just symptom of maturing and the awareness or realization that there are plenty of bad things that can in this world. Growing up is not always fun.

That happened to me all the time when I was younger. It eventually subsided (However I do still have flare ups of it from time to time) but some people's never go away. I suggest going to see a doctor to get some anti anxiety medication.

In this day and age, what with
weird movies and TV shows...

You worry because you love your family.
You keep remembering the trash you see
(that people refer to as "entertainment.")

Don't worry. The odds of anything like
that stuff happening - gazillion to one -
or even less!

Your family is so lucky to have a person
like you in it! Bless you - and your family, too!

try calling them every once in a while if they have cell phones. remember that God is in control and that he won't take their life until it's the right time.

anxiety pills may help.

Good luck.

It is called love. My oldest son was a Navy Seal and to this day I still worry about him -- it is just love. Just think, if you didn't care, you wouldn't worry. Just try and relax and trust in your mom.
