It looks to me like your off to a fine start. Here where I live, in the great state of Texas, folks take their barbeque SERIOUSLY. Around here, you'll find an awful lot of folks just don't think it's really a barbeque until the brisket is on the table, served up tender and smoky and with plenty of barbeque sauce. Ribs are another common addition to the menu. If you wanted to add a cool and healthy side-dish to your line-up, you might consider cole slaw. I'll add a quick recipe for it at the end of this answer, in case you need one. Corn on the cob is also especially delicious this time of year, and can easily be cooked with the rest of the grillables: just toss 'em on the grill shuck and all. Turn 'em every ten minutes or so. After a while, pull back part of the shuck on one ear press a few of the kernels. If they're tender and the juice runs clear, the corn is good to go. Pull 'em off the fire and set 'em aside. They'll stay warm in the shuck for a good long while.
I reckon that's about it, as far as I can think. I imagine that ought to make a barbeque that would live on in folks' memory for quite a while. But you do what YOU think is right. Have a good time, and bon appetit, y'all!
Oh yeah, I almost forgot . . .here's that cole slaw recipe :
1/2 medium green cabbage, cored and halved lengthwise and sliced very thin (about 4 cups)
1/2 medium red cabbage, halved lengthwise and sliced very thin (about 4 cups)
2 carrots, shredded fine
optional: 1 red delicious apple, cored (not peeled) and shredded
Dressing
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon honey
2 teaspoons cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
Stir dressing ingredients together until well blended. Toss with the other stuff and you're done. Makes about 8 cups.

you should definitely include some fresh cut veggies and a fruit salad for those on a diet or that just want something healthy to munch on.
baked beans are always a BBQ staple--i make mine in the crockpot and add ground beef sauteed with a yellow onion, a couple cans of my favorite flavor bush's beans(or whatever brand you buy normally), a can of butter beans red beans, and spices(ketchup, brown sugar, salt, pepper, paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, chili powder, etc.). start in the morning on low, and by the evening rolls around you'll have some yummy beans! you can also do this in the oven on 350* for about an hour or two if you don't have a crockpot.
also, you should make some cheesy hashbrown potato casserole instead of potato salad...that should be googled pretty easily. it just has frozen hashbrowns, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and cream of chicken soup. very YUM. you can even add diced green onion and fried crumbled bacon bits on top if you want.
oh, and get some smores ingredients! that's a lot of fun, you can do them on the grill if you don't have a fire pit.
have fun. :-)

Fruit pizza-
Take a yellow cake mix and combine with 2 eggs, 1/4 cup melted butter and 1/4 cup brown sugar. Spread into a greased baking sheet using a wet spoon (to get it smooth since the dough will be very sticky) and bake at 350 until golden brown (maybe 15-20 min). Let cool, then spread a mixture of 1-8 oz pkg softened cream cheese, 1 cup powdered sugar beaten together well and then folded into 1 container cool whip. Arrange sliced fruits such as strawberries, grapes, pineapple, banana, raspberries, mandarin oranges, blueberries, kiwi, etc... on top of the "frosting". Makes a great party food- people love it!

If you are going to bring a salad type thing - I love to take freshly sliced tomatoes and onions that have been marinating in an oil based Italian dressing.
Cucumber salad (a mayo/vinegar dressing)
or for a dessert - Dump Cake
in a 9 x 12 pan
dump 1 can of crushed pinapple (with juice)
dump 1 can of cherry pie filling over the pineapple
dump 1 box of DRY yellow cake mix over the fruit mixture (don't mix - just leave on top of fruit)
then add about 2 sticks of butter/margarine on top of the dry cake mix (I slice the butter into small pats and line the dry mix with them). bake at 375 until the top of the cake is golden brown and all the butter is melted. A quick cobbler type dessert. very yummy

What's always great for a BBQ is home made chili. People like to top their hot dogs with it or add it it baked beans. Also Sausage & Peppers are a good addition. Always have bacon, raw onion and tomatoes for topping the burgers. The salsa was a good idea and if you did not want to make your own the supermarkets have a good variety of freshly made in their deli depts.

How about barbecue (pork or beef)? In the South, barbecue is sliced or pulled or hashed meat. Grilling is what we call what you're going to do.
You can always use a beef brisket, start it in the oven, let it cook for 4 hrs. on low in a cooking bag with a bottle of barbecue sauce such as KC Old Masterpiece and a couple of dashes of Worchestire sauce and then finish on the grill to crisp up the outside. Yummmmmmmmmmm.

I would make pork chops, kabobs with pork, chicken or beef, with cherry tomatoes and some veggies, ribs, cajun shrimps, stuffed ham, and I really love grilled stuffed green or red peppers.
You cut the top of the pepper, mix tomato sauce, cooked rice, barley, spices, and ground beef and garlic and onion together, pour it in the top of the peppers, sprinkle some cheese on top, and grill till tender and smokey...mmm, doesn't get much better than that!
And for dessert, chop up whatever fruits you like, slap em on the grill with some brown sugar and lemon juice, and grill them till they are a little softer with a sugary coating..mmmm
