I mean, like the last time I went from the US to visit Mexico, there were no necessary documents or ID or anything necessary to go into Mexico, but to return to the US, I needed at least a Drivers License. I know it's same continent, and was before 9/11. But what are rules in say, Lebanon, or Syria, or Kuwait? Somewhere like that (not Israel per se), but is someone knows?........

It's different requirements for different countries. Check the respective countries' embassies in the US websites.

You have to look for each country. You will at least need a passport. I don't think you need a visa for Lebanon but you may for Syria and Kuwait. Just go to the Embassy website and it will tell you. I know Americans don't need one for the UAE. Some places like Turkey you buy one when you enter the country. I don't think you need one the Jordan either. From what I have seen the rules for Americans are similar to us Canadians.

A ‘Certificate of Sanity’ may help!

Seriously though, most countries strongly advise against travelling to the Middle East at this time. You would do well to heed their advice!

Valid passport and visa, oh and don't forget to make out your last will and testament before you go. Also you sould check with the State Dept to see if they consider it safe and if travel to certain countries is adviced or allowed and find out what immunizations you will need too.
