He is also the cutest cocker spaniel you ever seen. I would hate for something to hurt him

I have traps and keep catching them and getting ride of them put their are lots of them i killed 5 so far I keep seening new baby rats to I have a really big yard do you have any more help i even got the sound machine does not work?

He could be injured if the rats bite him. The bite could also get infected. Rats can also carry diseases that may be passed to your dog.

He would get sick if he were to eat one. Rats are known to carry parasites, so if you catch him with one in his mouth, take it from him *immediately* and dispose of it where he can't get at it. There is also the danger that the rat may have been exposed to poison while visiting a neighbor who may have put some out for pest control, so keep a close eye on him if he catches one.

GEeeeeeeeeeeeeeze,no. Just watch that none of the rat-bites get infected! All you have to do is clean em.

But cockers are comparitively LOUSY at ratting! Terriers are the BEST!!

And ..."youse guys" are SUCH SISSIES!!! I've taken rat,coon,possum,g-hog,muskrat...w/the terriers & NEVER vetted ANY of em!! Just clean any wounds & that's IT!!!
Sheeeeeesh,the world isn't out there WAITING to GETCHA!

Yes, the possibility is there. Rats can carry a host of deadly diseases.

Only if he is biten and the rat has some type of infection.
