Why should the spose of American need a visa?I can see the back round check.But do people really know what it takes to get a visa for a spouse.The requirments the time and cost to bring them here.The requirments alone are discrematating.We should have the same requirments for all wanting to get married .As we stood in line in manila Philipinnes for my wifes visa .I saw over 200 people also waiting.each one of them paying no less than 100 dollors for visa none refundable.this was for just 2 hours and one country.does anyone know how much the government is makeing off visa program? i figured it was about 100.000 a day just there.where does all this money go?know wonder the government like the visa program

It's the rule. In any country around the world, you can't make you're foreign born spouse an instant citizenship of your country of origin, therefore the need of visa to enter your country is required. Imagine the chaos it would bring if our immigration policy would be as lax as you would want it to be. I dont know where the money goes, I was recently at the federal bldg applying for an expedited passport costing me $159 plus half a day of my time, because they process 20,000 passports a day. Imagine. As you already know, visa is required anywhere, more so if you are not an american.

do you know what it would cost our country if they let the wrong people in like a terrorist and I'm not talking about money I mean american lives if it's so awful getting a visa why don't you just stay there because it sounds like you don't like America anyways

Good for you for doing it the legal way. Not many people are against immigration, it is the ILLEGAL immigrants that are the issue.

we dont like having all these new people crowding our cities but your money is always welcome :D it is more understandable if you were already here. just keep trying and some day you will understand
