That just about every answer/comment from the athiests and even from some agnostics, are so full of anger and sometimes flat out hate? ..... Why so much disrespect for God and religion, and those who choose to believe in Him.
I don't see the believers, posting mean, hateful and just plain ignorant comments at those people.... I guess that's the biggest difference between " Those who have ...and those who have not"

First of all I never said ALL Athiests/Agnostics, so I'm not sure why "non-believers" are getting so offensive. *reading the answers here*... I don't believe I said anything offensive to anyone, I wasn't rude in wording my question, yet I see (as with all the other religious questions) some attacking my question with anger. . proving the point of the question..I'm not here to judge anyone, your souls are not mine to save, I was taken to church as a child and taught, not forced by my mom about God, I was never forced or had religion shoved at me..I came to my conclusions about God, freely & on my own, I'm definitely no saint, but one thing I know is "God is real" and I don't need anyone angrily ridiculing my beliefs..but if someone is asking a question, (this is a public Q&A forum right?) everyone, believers and non-believers have a right to post an opinion, but I do NOT believe you have the right to make rude, nasty comments on anyone else's religious beliefs.

I'm really not sure why the additional comment posted it's self twice, maybe you gain more out of it on the second read?..lol..but since it did, I'd just like to say, I'm not here to make enemies over religious beliefs, I think there's enough of that in this world... I believe if I can respect your beliefs than you should respect mine.

If you truly want to know why good loving people sometimes get angry with Christians you actually need to listen to what they are saying. You need to try to understand how what you are doing is making them feel.
It hurts your feelings when someone pokes fun or makes disparaging comments about what you believe in. You know it does. People’s beliefs are precious to them, just as yours are precious to you. Simply thinking or saying but my beliefs are right and theirs are wrong does not help. In fact it is always seen as arrogant and often comes off making the one saying it sound like a fool.
People believe in what makes sense to them from their perspective, even if it makes no sense logically when it is looked at from any other perspective. Look around you at the great diversity the creator has given us to experience in this life. See the colorful and ever changing panorama that we have here to experience within. If this shows us any one thing about our creator, it makes it apparent that He/She loves this idea of diversity. If you look at any aspect of life, trees, birds, languages, or even sunsets you see an almost dizzying array of possibilities. This life we have been given by our Father/Mother God is a veritable feast of diversity from which we may chose what pleases us.
Such is the gift this life we have been given. Why is it so hard to imagine that our creator’s obvious love for diversity would not extend to the way his children expressed their love for him? If it seemed appropriate to have thousands of types of insects, birds, trees and sunsets etc. how likely is it that She would have suddenly become so narrow minded when it came to ways to express ones faith. Think about it. Just for a moment forget what you have been told over and over about their being only one correct way to approach God. Would this God who so obviously thrives on diversity even want that? When viewed from this perspective it makes one wonder about the source of the my-way or the highway idea of god. Sounds a lot more like ego bound narrow-minded human control issues than the work of our God who seems to have made diversity his trademark.
There is only one God; He/She has had many names. After all should we expect people who speak different languages to all call God by the same name? This would hardly seem to be a logical expectation. Jesus told us to love our neighbor, not to judge our neighbor or try to fix our neighbor, Only to love them. We are hardly being loving when we are insulting the way they express their love for our creator by telling them we have a better way. This can only make us seen like an arrogant know it all. The obvious consequence being our comments will hurt their feelings and they will say or do something to return the insult.
If we want our faith to grow we need to stop going around singing “MY Gods better than your God “. We need to shut up about their beliefs and start teaching by example. If we have learned anything about loving our neighbors like Jesus asked us to, it will show. People will be drawn to this loving belief system and want to know more about it. This is what being a Christian means. Anything else is just being an arrogant know it all.
Love and blessings

I must object.
I'm an Agnostic, and I feel that we should live and let live.
I'm happy in my life, and feel as long as what you do/believe does not harm others, there is no need to object to it.
I must apologise for a lot of agnostics/atheists though.
Sometimes people grow up in families were religion is twisted into something bad and pationless.
We use to get hit if we couldnt remember what the whole church sermon was about.
I decided to to abandon religion as it was filled with negativeaty but preached love.
I'm sure a lot of agnosts/atheist feel the same anger and simply vent it in the wrong way.

Maybe they get angry because religion has been shoved down their throats since they were born and they are sick of it. Me i believe in God but that is my choice. In the end it is all a matter of choice either you believe or you don't. Religion has always been a touchy subject along with politics. If we all just learned that each and every one of us has the freedom too choose what we want and everybody needs to stop judging and start living their own lives and worry less about what others think. Peace

Religion is man made and just as all things that man touches, he corrupts. Many agnostic and atheists don't believe because they can't see what is there. Believers, believe on faith alone. Religious types (I'm not religious but I'm spiritual) tend to not care that man has corrupted and lied to create a religion. Look at the creation of man, the story of Adam and eve. Science has proved that man came from the monkey. They have found skulls of prehistoric men and can see the subtle changes. Yet, churches stand by Adam and eve. People get angry when lied to and exploited as the church religions have a history of doing. In addition, those who can't believe in what they don't see, who else is there to blame for the poverty, death, and darkness life has to provide, but us? And wouldn't you be angry at someone walking with their head in the clouds when everyone else must deal with the rain?

Perhaps you haven't been watching then. If you want to see some real interesting examples of exactly how hateful and mean spirited the "Believers" can be, just pop on over to the Lesbian and Gay section.
Belief in your "God" isn't the only definition of religion.

I think that as a Christian you are an evil person. Christian doctrine states that anyone who does not believe what you believe should suffer eternal torment. That is a rule instated by your god. Even if you found significant evidence to support the existence of your god, I think you are evil for following him. You are supporting a deity that would torture me for eternity simply because I don't believe in it. I wouldn't want you to be tortured for eternity just because you believe in something different from me, in fact I would die for your right to believe in that thing. I'm gay and I would die for you to have the right to freely speak against homosexuality. However, you feel that I deserve eternal torture for believing different from you. And you support a god who promises to do that very thing. I have every right to disrespect God, he wants me to suffer for eternity because I didn't see any evidence supporting his existence. I also have the right to disrespect Christians, because they feel that I am deserving of eternal suffering just because I believe in something different from them.
And if you don't see believers posting mean, ignorant comments then you need to take off the rose colored glasses.

I've seen plenty of religious people posting "hateful" answers and questions. As for your actual question it's pretty hard not to be cynical when you're dealing with people who refuse to think logically. To help illustrate, imagine that everyone around you was convinced the sky is red and when you tried to get them to look up to see it's blue they close their eyes and cover their ears and walk away going "la la la la la la".

Man's heart always yearns for God. To suppress this natural inclination leads to disordered behaviors and quite often unresolved anger. The absence of the Creator, the Lord God in their lives fills them with emptiness.
They see others happy, apparently through a means they scorn and this is where the terrible anger comes from. Entrust these people to God's Mercy....

they do seem to come here more to mock than to actually discuss. they never usually have anything to add to the discussion better than "this question is irrelevant since God is a myth"
but still, others do badmouth atheists as well, and everybody together seems to gang up on the poor muslims who generally never badmouth anybody here
