I have been living in Istanbul for 3 years now. I have taught English which I really enjoy but I am looking for something more secure. Where would I go to look for a job for an American English speaker (I do speak Turkish as well but not fluently). I have past experience in Sales, Business Man., and of course teaching. Thanks to anyone who answers.

Try http://expatriates.com/classifieds/trk and istanbul.craigslist.org and monster.com for more professional jobs. I just did a google search of "jobs and Istanbul" and got a few sites. Another thing you can do is check the websites of Western companies that you see are in Istanbul. They often hire expats and probably would love to have a Native English speaker who understands life in Turkey and speaks a little Turkish. I would look at HR jobs for this types of companies.

i m living in Ankara but i know much business about Istanbul. 1st of all i advice u to look the yellow pages of the weekend newspapers. there r lots of adv for English speaking employees. tourism agents, insuarance agents, construction companies, foreign petroleum companies, etc. and of corz u can find by the internet. for ex: my wife (English speaking) found a good job in Ankara by kariyer.net. She is working for a foreign construction company now. the business capacity of Istanbul is of corz more than Ankara, so u have to find much better jobs.

First, I think you'll need to know more than a little Turkish to work in Turkey. To find a job, there are plenty of employment agencies around that will find you a suitable job (for a fee of course)

Try some hotel receptionist job, specially in tourist areas, but the sallary levels in Turkey could be very low for such jobs. I heard teachers in Turkey make much more. Sorry no other idea comes to my mind....
