What were your sex education lessons like?

I went to an all girls school, we didn't get to see much, the only thing we ever did was put a condom onto a carrot and that was about it.

And the first time I ever saw a willie was in the street, a lad had his out, swinging it and was shouting oi oi saveloy, I was horrified.

We were seperated boys from girls and then had a video of the sex life of rabbits. The final statement was:
"as it is in rabbits so it is in humans, girls".

That was it. If you had sex you would have LOTS of baby rabbits...... no mention of contraception or STDs or relationships. Homosexual men were not to be tollerated in our society as they were "queer".

Later we had a rep from Kotex or Whites or some firm. She told us that using tampax (their rivals) would rob us of our virginity and no man would ever want us after that.

My Mum bought me a book, told me to read it in my room and not let my little sister see it. If I needed to ask her questions I was to be discrete.

I went to an all girls school and ours was brilliant. Lower years was all the basic stuff about reproduction, but as we got older it got more in depth. As well as condoms on carrots we got to look at all sorts of contraceptive devices. We also had talks and chats about how it actually feels emotionally to have sex with someone. I think the school was quite advanced really when I talk to friends who had nothing like that.

My mom got a little tape with a lady on explaining to girls that our bodies are like roses etc, before very subtly moving on to the sex education part. That way she didnt have to discuss it with me.
Growing up in a protestant community sex was very taboo, and the first time I had sex it was in complete darkness. Only later did I move on to what would be considered a normal relaxed sex life.
I must say Religion really screwed around with my views on sexuality!

Funny, our teacher was old and limped and seemed more embarresed then we were.I remember one class he passed out pictures of family units and we had to rate them in order of who would make the best parents, one picture was 2 teenagers with a baby another was a man and woman both in wheelchairs trying to push a pushchair between them there were many other pictures as well. I dont remember him telling us anything about condoms, pill, stds or anything I do remember him having a banana one class and another time someone was sent out of class for asking about crabs. I mean wasnt that what he was supposed to be teaching us about.

we had none because i went to a mixed school and had a male biology teacher the girls were made to sit in the library during those lessons

i went to a mixed school and mine was as good. we spent more time blowing up condoms than anything. having said that i knew all about contraception and that before then anyway, our proper lessons werent til i as 14.

Ours was horrible. By the time I graduated from high school about 20 girls had babies or were pregnant.

My mom came into my room when I was "pairing up" my Barbie's and asked me if I was trying to make them do what she and dad did (I walked in on them all the time as a kid). I said yes, and she took me aside and just told me everything. I was 7.
