What I have realized is that in order to understand the bible, you have to let it touch your spirit and is something that cannot be just taken into the mind. I have experienced that when I read the bible through spiritual eyes, it penetrates me like a double edge sword but in a good way. It had such an affect that I was crying for 10 hours straight. I can honestly say that I have had a little taste of the spiritual world and believe me, it is much more real than this world. This world is so artificial compared to the spiritual world.

I agree, sometimes I have just read a passage for what it is, and the words have not left the page. However, when I read with an open soul, mind and heart, it really affects me.

When God directs us to words that we need to hear and heed at a particular time in our lives, we should listen.

If you read Scriptures (or listen to speakers) with the Holy Spirit then you will hear the lessons that God intends for YOU. Sometimes these lessons have absolutely nothing to do with what you are reading or hearing. Many times I have received personal revelation on problems that I have prayed about, my prayers were answered by someones talk in Church or by reading the Scriptures.

No, I have to read the bible with my eyes, using my fingers to turn the pages, use my brain to understand what I see. This stuff about "Spritial Eyes" is how satan can take the literal meaning of what the bible says and twist it to make it seem true, even tho he makes you think its a lie

God the Holy Spirit uses his Word in so many ways in my life, too. Encouragement, conviction, instruction and so much more is contained in the Bible. Every time I open it and study it, I am enriched and enlightened more and more.

God is so good...I don't deserve His love, but He is so generous with it...Hallelujah!

actually, the bible was given to us along with the oral torah, which explains the bible. people who have not read the oral torah, can't really correctly understand the bible no matter what they do. so... its pretty easy to understand on its own, as long as you have it. but you DO have to let the bible touch your spirit.
