I'm getting married in Peru. Most of my family already lives there but I have to get my family and friends from the US and my fiance's family from the UK (including young, non-working cousins) down to South America!

Taking things like finances, time off from work, etc. into consideration, how far in advance should I plan for the wedding?

I would say that you need 6 months to a year to have the least amount of stress. The first thing you should do is nail out a place and time and a guest list. To make a guest list you need to know how much budget you are going to have. You don't need all of the details, just a ball park. 400 people on $2000 won't fly. When you figure out who you can invite to come, send out save the dates as soon as you can to make sure people and budget and take off for your day. In them include information about flight costs, passports, visas, and English speaking hotels. If your wedding is far away from the airport, will you provide transportation, or will they have to cover it?

After you have the location and people taken care of, it is now up to you to figure out how much you can afford to spend and plan. Use your family to help you.

Good Luck!

Hi! It really depends on how much help you get to arrange everything. If you do it all alone, than you will need at least one year and a lot of patience. Even if you plan your wedding a year in advance, there will be little things that just won't work out. Do not worry, there is no thing like "perfect". Just be as close to it as possible, and ask for help whenever you need it. Otherwise you will end up hating the whole process... and that is not what you want to remember to...

Hi!

That is really exciting that you'll be getting married in Peru. I'm sure that your family and friends would love to plan to visit such a historically rich country... So, my advice, is to let them know ASAP. Book your church and reception. Set the date. Then, send out Save the Date notices to your friends and family. Save the Date notices can be sent out at any time frame. Invitations should be sent out 8-6 weeks before the wedding. But since your wedding will be international, my advice is to send it out 8 weeks ahead of time if not earlier!

You have to send them a "save teh date" card at least a year in advance, so people can make appropriate arrangements.

3 months out you should send the invitations with all the details.

You should also do some research for local and safe hotel options there . You should offer some suitable accomodations options for your guests and even offer to reserve for them if they would want to. You should recommend not only the hotel but also dinning and entretainament information should be provided.

Congratulations and good luck

Yours sounds like a monumental task. I went to my second cousin's wedding in June of this year. It was an excellent affair. She worked on her wedding plans for about one year.
Your guests from the US and UK will have to get passports, if they don't already have them. Will they need visas to enter Peru? Those things will take the longest, so you might have to notify your guests right away.
Good luck.

whilst making plans a DW you truthfully ought to touch the interior of reach government there to be sure what you need to do in terms of place of work work. an excellent sort of places (alongside with Mexico) will require which you deliver in a team of archives 5 to 6 months earlier and which you be there 3 enterprise days earlier the marriage for processing. i'm uncertain what you advise by utilising your first question. as some distance because of the fact the invitations, I distinctly propose sending STDs as quickly as conceivable. Your visitors decide on time to devise for a visit like that. on your invitations contain issues like the fee of a visa to get in (i've got faith Mexico is 10USD) and hotel instruction.
