i mean rather than bettering ourselves, we are more interested by vanity. and are made to feel if we are not having sex around the clock we are out of step. if i go out for a drink and dont respond to flirting, my friends think it wierd? i just feel that its cheap and distracts me from focusing on the good light that is in all of us. i am not religious but take interest in studying all religions. theyve all got the same underlying tone. good/bad, positive/negative, light/darkness ect. does the sex oriented culture we are bombarded with distract us from something much more important????

I think that in this modern world, sex has assumed enormous importance. It has, of course, been the driving force of life since Adam and Eve, but was always regarded as something as natural as eating and drinking and just part of life. Now the media brainwashes everyone with it plus, of course, it sells everything from cars to chocolate bars. The sex industry makes big money for those who exploit it, whether they're using their own bodies or other people's. So .... instead of being an enjoyable part of living with everyone accepting their normal appetite as being the norm, we're suddenly made to feel that we're not normal unless we're addicted. It's all about money and playing on people's self-doubt. Personally, I couldn't give a hoot how many times a week/month/year anybody else has sex; I'm happy with my lot and I don't consider sex a commodity. Mind you, I'm not young, impressionable, or lacking in self-confidence!

I have to agree with you and agree with others. I think, yes, sex has been over the top in recent years, especially in the commercial sense. Nothing is able to sell things more successfully than sex. Teenagers as young as 11 are now in sexual relationships. You cannot turn the telly on without sex being shoved down your face. These days, your talent is measured in terms of how you can wiggle your almost naked body in front of the camera rather than actual singing or acting abilities....and the list goes on. But it is true, that for centuries sex has been oppressed too much. Way too much!!! I think sex is a very natural thing that should not be given any more importance than eating, drinking or breathing air. It is a very essential part of life, but unfortunately it has been repressed. Just think about it: if you are starved for days and days then you are allowed to eat again, you will pig out like there's no tomorrow. I think the same happened with sex. With religions being so strict, it is no wonder people are messed up in the head. Balance is the key to good health. Too much sex is just as damaging as no sex at all. I think we need to wait another 50 years before people calm down and they understand that sex is ok again.

I don't know where you've been but Sex has been big since the Old Testiment, which talks of HArlots, Sodom and Gomorah, Babylon.

Bach's mentor, F. Couperine, wrote a major classic called Mysteries of the Barracdes, it's about getting under women's skirts.

That was written about 1500 or 1600.

Then there is Chaucer and his limericks.

Women in Love, the classic novel.

They were making pron the moment photography was invented.

Not to mention ALL those naked women in Oil Paintings or statues dating back to the acient Greeks and Romans.

Nobody has sex all day, it's not possible but it is of great interest to most people and they will make any excuse to talk about it as you have done here...people rant against sexual sin because they find it more interesting than other types of sin...it's human nature to find sex fascinating...try to accept it like the rest of us do.

And try to get some occasionally like the rest of us hope to when the rare opportunity arises.

Well not to those of us that doesnt let it be our be all and end all, i like yourself, like to study things, it keeps the mind active and distracts you from other less important things that society deems important. You still need to let your hair down occasionally, and have some fun, stop being so uptight, otherwise the world might pass you by before you know it.

We'll you must remember. Humans are animals to. Very intelligent animals, but animals non the less.
Our primal urges are to live by eating (that explains why Mc'D is so popular) and to reproduce.
The world has been ruled by reproduction for millions of years, and despite us having to know better it will continue to rule our lives for the next million.

I don't know about everything you said but I like sex and see nothing wrong with being sexual.I rather like not being repressed in my sexuality and I would hate it if the world was repressed in sexuality as it was throughout time until recent years.
