250 gms. finely grated coconut
250 gms. sugar
150 ml. water
ghee for greasing plate

Method


Prepare syrup with sugar and water to 2 1/2 thread consistency.
Use method as shown in introduction.

Warm coconut in heavy saucepan, pour in the syrup.

Stir well and cook till soft lump forms.

Spread in a greased plate. Cool.

Sprinkle cardamom powder (optional).

Cut into squares, store in airtight container.

Making time: 30 minutes
Makes: 20-25 pieces
Shelflife: 2 weeks

COCONUT BURFI RECEIPE
Ingredients:
225 gms Khoya
225 gms coconut (dry and ground)
1 tsp cardamom seeds (ground)
1 tbsp ghee
2 1/2 cups sugar
2 cups water
1/2 tsp almonds (grated)
1/2 tsp pistachios (grated)
How to make coconut burfi:
* Mix khoya and coconut and fry them lightly with ghee on a low heat.
* Add cardamom and mix well.
* Prepare one-string syrup by dissolving sugar in the water.
* Now stir the coconut mixture into the syrup.
* Grease the plate and spread the grated nuts on it.
* Spread the prepared evenly over the plate and allow it to cool.
* Now with the knife, cut it into desired shapes.
* Turn them over so that nuts covered part appears on the top.
* COCONUT burfi is ready to be served

Coconut Burfi - A South Indian sweet
from Sridhar.



700 gms Sugar
2 Coconuts
35 gms Cashewnuts
7-8 Cardamom
70 gms vegetable oil
(1) Shred the coconut.
Break the cashewnuts into small pieces and fry them in oil.
Powder the cardamom.
(2) Heat water in a vessel containing 1/4 ltr. of water and add the sugar to it.
After the sugary liquid is no longer thin, add the coconut shreds and heat it until it turns thick.

(3) After sufficient stirring, add the fried cashewnut pieces andoil/margarine and stir the mixture well.
Add the powdered cardamom and mix it thoroughly and stop heating.

(4) Pour the mixture onto a plate which could accomodate sufficient thickness.
Cut into rectangular pieces while hot.

NOTES This recipe is a translation from 'samaithu paar', a cook-book in Tamil.

1 Lt. Milk
75 gms sugar
50 grams naryal chura (coconut powder)
20 grams pistachios, chopped
20 grams almonds, chopped

Method
Boil milk reduce heat and let it simmer for 45-minutes to one hour till thick paste like. Keep stirring in between. Add sugar and coconut powder and stir till sugar dissolces. Grease a thali and pour the batter. Garnish with pistachios and almonds. Let it cool and cut into square or rhomboid pieces.

preparation:boil water and add sugar to it boil until thin syrup,now take a pan heat some ghee and fry the coconut add these coconut and cocoa or melted choclate to the sugar syrup and boil till bubbles occur now greese a plate with ghee pour the mixture to it and sprinkle the cahsew and almond over it allow it to cool and cut into pieces chill it and serve

grate coconut,make sugar syrup two thread consistency,add mava and grated coconut to syrup ,elaichi ,spread the mixture on a large one inch high plate on which some ghee is spread out.cool & then cut to pieces of desired size

Is it WHO OR HOW to make coconut Barfi..Confusing ..if it is how..grate one coconut add it to one cup of milk add sugar and keep stirrin g till it becomes thick.. spread on a plate and allow it to settle and then cut to pieces.

First of all make chashini of 2 taar, then to this chasini add powder coconut till it become hard, then put oil in thali & spread over it, let it cool, eat it

ingriedients:- coconut's khaman- 500gm, milk ka khoya 500gm, powdered sugar 500gm, ghee as required.

method:- take khoya and stir it in a vessel on gas till it losen.
keep it away to get it cool. than take powdered sugar an add 500ml water in it and make one thread syrup. than mix khoya and coconut khaman together and add it in sugar syrup. than sread it on a thali which is greased. make pieces when cool.
