Just a week ago, UK agents found out a plot to blow airlines going to the US using pyroxide- based solution. According to the intelligence sources and based on evidences found, the plotters will conceal the bomb materials in perfume bottles and other liquid containers, bring them into the plane as handcarried things and put them all together on board to make a bomb to blow the plane on air, thats the reason why airport authorities all over the world banned liquid to be carried into the handcarried baggages. This is a security precaution to avoid terrorists bringing with them bomb materials on board.

Governments in Britain, Pakistan, and the US discovered a plot by terrorists to blow up air planes in mid-flight. The terrorists planned to smuggle two different, common household liquids onto a plane, mix the chemicals on the plane and detonate the mixture with electricity from a one-use camera. The terrorists planned to hide one of the liquids in the bottoms of British sports drink bottles, with some of the sports drink on the top.
I think the ban is a good idea. Not all of those plotting have been caught. It is not known if there are more plotters trying it.

Once again, hysterical overreaction.
The common guy who does not know one end of the airplane from another will feel "safe" because toothpaste, shampoo and perfume bottles are being confiscated. It looks like the "agencies" are doing something.
This plot is very old, in 1995 it was tried, killed one person and it was never attempted again, mainly because you will need an enormous amount of household chemicals to bring an airplane down.
Remember when they tried to make us believe that a nail clipper was dangerous? That with a pair of tweezers you could subdue the crew and 400 passengers?
Let's be realistic and avoid the mass hysteria.

Liquids can be a conduit for explosives. I think this is like refusing to eat after having food poisoning.... a little useless now. I'm just hoping that they start bringing a huge bottle of lotion, free eyedrops and bottled water around during flight because I completely dry out on planes. I'm glad that we are being safe but I really dislike the ways our society has become so REACTIVE, but never PROACTIVE. Just not smart to me.

Liquids are banned for several reasons. Nitroglycerin is a liquid and colorless and could be extremely dangerous. We used liquid media to culture various diseases (that liquid is called a broth) and alcohols violate international taxation laws and well as causing inebriation amongst passengers and could cause problems for the air crew and endager others.

Liquids were recently banned due to terrorists attempting to smuggle liquid explosives onto U.S. bound British airliners. What do I think of this? I'm all for it. Whatever it takes to keep those bastards from taking out more of our innocent civiians is fine by me. It pisses me off to hear about people bitching and complaining about measures taken to insure their own safety. Just a thought. Oh and Sleek.....................try a dictionary. REACTIVE would be letting the damn thing go off and saying.............oops, sorry. I think our government is being very PROACTIVE in taking steps to PREVENT such a huge tragedy from being carried out in the first place. Idiot.

They are banned from carry-ons (a FEW things are allowed now), they are banned because terrorists were caught with a plot to blow up airplanes coming to America, with bombs in liquid form that looked like bottles of soda.
what do i think of it? I'D RATHER BE SAFE THAN DEAD, so I say do what they need to do to keep us safe, it won't bother me.

yesterday I could have bought perfume and alcoholic drinks at the duty free shop before boarding the aircraft. It was the security check before going airside that would not let me carry liquids through.
Presumably I could have poured a pint of perfume over my seat and set alight to it, though? I wonder what that would have done to the aircraft? (Dont try this at home, folks!)

Because of the fact of liquid explosives. See I don't know you about you guys...but when I board a plane I'm willing to give up my drinks at check point then to be blown up. But that's just me...
