You mean sheltered?

They retain their innocence (ignorance). They're uninformed, but remember, ignorance is bliss. So they'll be happier for longer (until they wake up and realize what the world is really like).

No that is not true. Maturity comes from the way kids are raised by their parents. A child that is kept separated from life and the experiences in life will not be as mature as a child that is exposed to people and life in general. Life gives you coping skills. Sheltering a child doesn't give them a sense of dealing with situations. Good parenting, not keeping them away from the world makes a child stable in their environment. A child that is always sheltered will be more immature with life situations.
