Yoshi is, I believe, the name of one of the characters in a GameBoy / Nintendo game (Super Mario, I think). However, I wouldn't be surprised if it is now used as an (offensive) name for someone of oriental origin.

Well were i come from (nottingham) it is a racist term for a chinese person, yoshi sounds chinese and is reffered to as a dish of the chinese. Other racist slang terms include chink and slanty. I think it is disgusting how many people are racist towards chinese people in todays day and age. I love the chinese and Most of them are not 'yoshi's' but are very nice people.

It basically means 'idiot'. As far as I know, it comes from The Muppet Show- as if to say The Muppets are a bit dim!! It is not generally an insult though can be used that way! It is more of a 'friendly' word. Like saying "You're a silly billy" I guess. It is usually said "Ah you muppet!", "What ARE you doing you muppet?" Hope that made sense!

"Yoshi" is a common Japanese name for males. However, it might be slang for a Super Nintendo Entertainment System or Super Famicom.

It's a fairly common Japanese boy's name or name abbreviation. It may be referring to some sort of character in an electronic game or anime/manga.
