Hi!

How can someone make his FBI name-checking faster?
or even know anything about how much time will it take?

This Indian guy posted his experience there:
http://immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=136848

but any clearer step-by-step procedure to follow?

Serious answers are greatly appreciated,
specially if the source is also listed.

Many thanks.

Unfortunately there is no way to expedite the process. The FBI (much like every other inept government agency) takes its time in getting things done. Generally they are supposed to have all names checks completed within six months of a petition being filed, but that is not always the case, particularly if you have a common name or are from a country that is designated a state sponsor of terrorism. Also, while you can have the FBI do a personal independent name check, USCIS will not accept it, so don't waste time/money on that.

It's not unheard of for these checks to take over one or two years; incredible as it may seem. The only means to try to move things along are: (1) contacting your Congressman or Senator; (2) contacting the Ombudsman; or (3) filing a mandamus action against USCIS. Since any one of these will take a while anyway, my advice is to just be patient.

Good luck

Many people have the same problem, especially if you have a reasonably common surname and are from a "suspicious" country ... they take their time, and a very long time it can be ... how do you hurry the FBI? I seriously doubt if that is possible ....

You can't make the FBI work faster. They work at their own pace. If you call to try to expedite the process, you'll be stamped as a terrorist and sent to Guantanamo Bay. So just be patient.
