there are no winners, and u make it sound as if hizballah are great, they are the idiots that started all this! it doesn't matter if it was 2 soldiers or 1000, they deserve what's coming to them, and it's not over yet... Israel is the winner in my eyes.

Once the Lebanese people try get back to normal lives they will see they have no homes etc etc, they can blam Israel, but who's fault is it? Hezballah!

Everyone is so intent on naming a winner! It still is not over. On one hand, Hizbollah are still armed, on the other, Israel is still occuying Lebanon.

There is no winner, but the Lebanese people have definitely lost. We have been bombed back to the stone age. Buildings, infrastructure... Not to talk about the dire economic condition we are now in.

For those of you who are going to come up with replies such as "Kick Hizballah out & live in peace", please save them to yourselves. Here's why: I do not support or want Hizbollah, neither do many many other Lebanese, but erradication of a whole country is not the answer! Right before this war, there was a national dialogue in Lebanon to get Hizbollah to lay down their arms. We could not resort to violence, first because it would be a national disaster, second because we'd have a huge civil war, and third because the army is weak & unarmed. And that, due to the fact that we'd been occupied by Syria for 15 years, with US blessing, and they did not allow the army to gather strength.

All we want is to be allowed to live in peace, not on the brink of uncertainty of whether tomorrow is the day we die.

That's a preposterous question. Why? Israel has achieved nothing except for flattening an enitire country for two soldiers and now they've created more hatred in the hearts and minds of Arabs, both in and out of Lebanon.

Israel is a loser from the day it was formed. They are doing exactly the same they started in 1948, occupying land that doesn't belong to them.

Yes
Just because Israel did not destroy Lebanon does not make Hezbollah cowards a winner

I can only think its American spin from the government because they wanted Israel to win. NO ONE WON THE WAR. It was a ceasefire where both sides agree to stop hostilites temporarily. It won't last because this conflict has been going on for years and both sides hate each other too much.

no one is the winner in a war. Israel lost lives and money, Hezbollah the same...

both lost. Both suffered, and neither one of them won. Hezbollah claims to have achieved victory... but i would have to disagree. Hope they stop for real not just a stupid cease-fire. I live in Amman, Jordan which is pretty close to lebanon and israel.

There is no winner in this stupid war. Israel will be fighting for its existence forever. They will never be accepted by its neighbours. Sad but true.

Unfortunately Hezbollah is far and away the winner. Israel
and the west, including the US are the losers. Hopefully this
situation will turn around soon. Please pray.

ISRAEL WON! Iran and Syria think they're cool sending troops into Iraq to kill us and trying to back up Hezbollah/Lebonon.
