It is an excellent low impact exercise
As for losing weight it has its downside.
The heating of regular exercise doesnt happen and so appetite suppression from the heating doesnt happen. In fact cold water stimulates appetite.
To build muscle first build capillary beds by lots of reps with light weights. After 3 weeks of that do 3 sets daily that you cannot do 10 reps of. Be sure to have adequate protein. You should bulk like crazy. Most people dont do capillary work and only get a small muscle gain then plateau.

Swimming is in all probability the best and maximum effectual workout consultation i've got ever had. it works the whole physique, cardio as properly as muscle tissue which you in all probability does not use if purely lifting weights or working. i'd propose you're taking a swimming type in case you haven't any longer already so as which you common procedures to do the countless styles of strokes suited. this would help you employ the spectacular muscle tissue and not harm your self in the strategies-set of your workout consultation, and provides you with a minimum of one set time a week once you would be disciplined and get in the pool for a series volume of time (many times a 0.5 hour). have relaxing!

Swimming is a lifetime sport that benefits the body and the whole person! But what is it that makes swimming good, specifically? That depends on what you are trying to accomplish.
Swimming is a healthy activity that can be continued for a lifetime - and the health benefits swimming offers for a lifetime are worth the effort it takes to get to the pool.

yup and has actually be proven to be better exercise for the simple fact that if you in the water in takes a lot more to manuver around then outside of water so you are actually burning more caleries so on and so fourth that is why professional swimmers are in such good shape now your not going to go in a beach ball and come out a body builder like anything it takes work

yes as long as you are swimming laps and not just fiddling about in the water, it is good for exercise that does not jar your joints, it will give you long muscle strength and big shoulders if you do it enough, good luck.
