Everyone is so intent on naming a winner! It still is not over. On one hand, Hizbollah are still armed, on the other, Israel is still occuying Lebanon.

There is no winner, but the Lebanese people have definitely lost. We have been bombed back to the stone age. Buildings, infrastructure... Not to talk about the dire economic condition we are now in.

For those of you who are going to come up with replies such as "Kick Hizballah out & live in peace", please save them to yourselves. Here's why: I do not support or want Hizbollah, neither do many many other Lebanese, but erradication of a whole country is not the answer! Right before this war, there was a national dialogue in Lebanon to get Hizbollah to lay down their arms. We could not resort to violence, first because it would be a national disaster, second because we'd have a huge civil war, and third because the army is weak & unarmed. And that, due to the fact that we'd been occupied by Syria for 15 years, with US blessing, and they did not allow the army to gather strength.

All we want is to be allowed to live in peace, not on the brink of uncertainty of whether tomorrow is the day we die.

Hizbullah.
They fought a guirella war that israel is lacking.
They fought with faith that israel is lacking.
They fought with courage what israel is lacking.
They are fighting an agressor what israel is lacking.
they are fighting for freedom what israel is lacking.
They are people of this region which israelies are not.

If you take into account the strength of the Israeli army and the notion of a nation (with every kind of support from US) taking on a group of few thousand gorilla fighters who fought for every inch of their land then that in itself is a moral victory for Hizbollah!

Overall it was a worthless and uncalled for war started by Israel and supported by US. There were no real winners only civilian casualties.

The suppliers of arms to both sides so Iran and the US.

Losers; civlians on BOTH sides and to some degree, the soldiers either forced or fooled into fighting for what boils down to a pathetic hated of each other by both sides.

I agree with B, if Israel was as murderous as the Arab propaganda said they were, Lebanon would be carpet bombed into submission ... or at least desolation. I can see the day coming when that will happen.
